As the end of the school year comes to an end, we had the pleasure of going to the 2010-2011 Academic Banquet.
We already knew our fifteen year old son had straight A's, cause his dad keeps a pretty close eye on that sort of thing.
What we didn't realize, was he was going to receive The Medallion for the highest grade in his Science Class.
Or that he would receive the Medallion in his Algebra Class.
Or that he would receive the Medallion in his World History Class.
I don't have the pictures, but he also received this Medallion in his English Class and Computer Class.
He received every....single...Medallion, in every....single....Academic Class!
Wow! The highest achieving student in all of his classes. We are so proud. Brag!
While maintaining his outstanding grades, he also has played football, basketball, and baseball.
In addition to ALL that, he was Class President.
If that wasn't enough, he was extremely active in FFA, and received the Star Green Hand Award, which is selected at the District Level of FFA.
Then there is the High School Band...he plays the saxophone.
Then there is the Knowledge Bowl Team...his team advanced to the State Competition.
Oh, and I can't leave out the Science Fair...his project went to the State Science Fair at CSU.
Now, please excuse me, as there is not one single button left on his dad's shirt, and I need to get busy with the needle and thread :)

My First Award!
I checked my email early this morning, and received a sweet surprise!
The lovely and talented, Dianna, over at These Days Of Mine honored me with my very first award!

Thank you Dianna! Please go visit her...I promise you will love her blog :)
The rules are to thank and link back to Dianna.
Then reveal seven things about myself, and then pass this award on to other deserving bloggers. So here goes.
1. I want a Harley Davidson. Seriously!
2. This summer I will celebrate my 49th birthday.
3. We used to raise registered Hampshire Show Pigs-meaning it was normal to have 100+ piglets in our
barn at various times throughout the year.
4. I am a runt...5'2".
5. I have lived in the country for 10 years, and I am still terrified of our horses.
6. When I was 14, I went to Europe with a tour group for a month. I didn't know a soul in the group, but
that was okay with me!

A Day Of Adventure...In The Country
Little country boys get to do some cool stuff.
Really, everyday in the country, is an adventure.
But this time of year is the best!
As most of you know, our little great-nephew has spent a lot of time with us.
He loves everything about the country.
And there's a lot of things you can do out here, that you can't do in town.
Like tracking and hunting wild animals. Little man is always on the look out for "bear-cats".
While we have never spotted one, he swears they are real, and they are lurking out here.
Please note....no animals or windows were harmed during this adventure.
