    Fire In The Sky

Just when I think I have “HAD IT”, with living in the country. When I am at the “end of my rope”, with the flies. And the miller moths. And the flying ants. The spiders and snakes. Not to mention the creepy crawly things I can’t even identify. I walk out on the porch. And there…is…this… A reminder. Of why I love the country. Oh, and there is skinny dippin’ in the hot tub, which is a nice little bonus.

The Scariest Moment Of My Life….Ever

It came with a phone call from our pediatrician. …..It all started about this same time in 2004. My beautiful daughter so excited about starting her freshman year in high school. She was in her bedroom, upstairs, and yelled for me to come up.  She needed me to look at something. “Mom….what is this?”  She pointed to her shirt.  At her breast. There was a wet spot.  Her breast had leaked through her bra, and through her shirt. She was fourteen, and I told her it was probably hormones, but, that we should watch, and see if it continued. Well, it continued for several days. While I knew we had doctors…

Muffin Top, Hot Flashes, And More.

So, recently, I had a birthday. Not just any birthday. My 49th birthday. There. I finally said it. It’s not that bad, but…it’s like I suddenly woke up and realized I am gonna be, uh, 50.  I just wasn’t prepared for that reality. I still feel like I am in my 20’s. Ok, maybe 30’s. Yes, I would still feel like a young hip chick, except for the back fat that suddenly appeared on the eve of my birthday.  One day it wasn’t there.  And the next day it was.  Weird. And the fact I now have to wear reading glasses-I am wearing them right now. Oh, and the muffin top…

    The Hoarder

Hi.  My name is Darcie. And I am a hoarder. Not of all things. I hoard one thing. Magazines. Yes, I am a magazine hoarder. I love them all.  Good Housekeeping.  First For Women.  Better Homes and Gardens.  Redbook.  Ladies Home Journal.  Womans Day.  And, there are more. I have them in a basket by my bed. In the table by my bed. In the car. In the coffee table drawers. On the coffee table. In the bathroom. In my briefcase. In Wranglers briefcase.  Well, maybe not there.  Yet. They are everywhere. And I have a very, very, difficult time parting with any of them. They all have something wonderful to offer.…

    Oklahoma Weekend

We spent the holiday weekend in southern Oklahoma.  And I am pretty sure I gained five pounds. You see, my husband’s family cooks.  They cook a lot. And it always seems like they start feeding us, shortly after we arrive, and don’t stop feeding us until we are pulling out of the driveway.  Don’t get me wrong, I love every minute of it.  This time, my mother-in-law sent her famous chocolate chip cookies with us, so, technically speaking, they were still feeding us on our way home. While we were there we did a little shopping. I found a pair of Levi’s.  I love Levi’s.  Get this…they were only $9.88.  They…

    My New Love

Recently, on a trip to the city, I went to one of my favorite stores. Kohl’s. I love Kohl’s. One of my favorite things came from Kohl’s. I use it everyday, and miss it terribly when I am away from home. Dear Keurig and Kohl’s, I love you. Being able to pick and choose each and every cup of coffee rocks.  Sometimes, I want bold.  Sometimes, I’m in the mood for flavored.   Sometimes I want the lighter side of things.  Whatever floats your boat, in the way of coffee, this little gem will do it. Just let me say, I am sharing this information with you, cause I want to. Kohl’s…

    Bull Headed Can Be Good-Sometimes.

Most of you know, Wranglers can build, fix, cobble together, and design almost anything. A few months ago, he had a vision. Some of his visions, tend to worry me.  And this one fell into that category. I just wasn’t sure. I have difficulty seeing things that just aren’t there. He could see it.   Plain as day. Not me. Couldn’t see a thing. Nada. Honestly, I have to say, once he wants to do something, well, um….let’s just say… he does it. He’s kinda “bull headed” that way. Now, me… I have to worry. And fret.  Ponder the pros and cons. And look things up on the internet.  (Ha!  That rhymes. …
