Country Life

Holy Cow! It’s A …….

So, a few days ago, I was making my rounds watering flowers.  It was early evening, and I was just minding my own business, going about tending my little flowery friends.

Then….something on the tree right next to me, caught my eye.  It was just a slight movement, but when I looked,  nothing was there.  When I got a little closer, I saw a small creature that looked just like the bark on the tree.  I still had NO IDEA what I was looking at, so…..I got a little closer.  At that point, it moved, and slowly stretched out a black wing, and I knew EXACTLY what it was.

At this point I dropped my margarita watering hose, and ran for the house.

Actually, I ran and grabbed my camera, just like any good blogger, right?

I was a little freaked out by our  visitor, but at the same time, these guys eat those pesky mosquitoes, so I guess he can stay.

It was pretty cool watching him come to life, as the sun went down.  Once it was dusk, he flew off into the night.

Creepy, but cool!

Hi Darcy! Been awhile since I have been here..nice to see you still blogging! Out here in the Texas Hill Country we have caves of them..people actually pay to watch them fly out at dusk..lol! We also had a few attached to a vent near the eaves of our cabin..they were weird little creatures!
