    Detox Bath

Last week my massage therapist informed me….”your neck and shoulders are a mess!”  She also quizzed me about my stress level.  Ha!  Then, she ordered me to start taking a detox bath.  I have heard of these, however, I have never taken the “time” to actually try it….always in a hurry… On my way home from work, I decided to give it a try, and WOW!  It was so relaxing and soothing to the muscles she had worked on…it was a deep tissue massage, which I love!  Hey, no pain no gain. I have had three of the detox baths, and I can’t believe the difference in my neck and…

A Day With The Denver Broncos

(This post was written the last time the Broncos were going to the Super Bowl, and HERE we are again!  Go Broncos!!)     Since our beloved Broncos are heading to The Super Bowl, I think it’s quite fitting to share this with you all. Last fall, our big boy turned eighteen.  To celebrate, we took him to a Denver Bronco game.  Here are a few whole bunch of shots from our day.     John Elway, before the game….. HI JOHN! Pictures are a little blurry…I’m pretty sure I may have been shaking! *starstruck*     Ahh, Peyton…we love you!   If I tried this, I’m pretty sure I would have to…

A List Of Medical Expenses You Can Deduct From Your Taxes

It’s that time of year AGAIN.  The dreaded tax season.  Hopefully, you didn’t have any major medical or dental expenses in 2015!  We did have some of both, which prompted me to do a little research on “deductible” medical expenses vs. “nondeductible expenses”. First, your deductible medical expenses must be in excess of 10% of your adjusted gross income. Deductible Medical Expenses Diagnosis and Cures Annual Physical Exams Medicine, Treatment and Prevention Dental Treatments Medical Equipment, Supplies and Diagnosis Devices Ambulance and Other Medical Professional Transportation Travel expenses to and from treatment Insurance payments Chiropractor Psychologist Physical Therapy Medical Expenses that Aren’t Deductible A few expenses that may be medical-related but aren’t…

    My Daughter’s Journey

About a year ago, my daughter called and told me she was going on a fitness journey… I had no idea the life changing transformation she would experience. She started working out at a gym everyday, as well as, checking in with a coach.  Her coach not only guided her with work-outs, but also gave her all the guidelines needed for healthy diet and nutrition. There is an amazing science behind her successful journey…balancing protein, carbs, muscle gain and loss, the importance of water….the list goes on and on.  Maybe I could get her to do a guest post, because it’s really interesting! She has been such an inspiration to…

    Gone Fishing!

Yesterday was absolutely beautiful here!  Our college boy is home for spring break, so we took advantage of the great weather and headed for Two Buttes Lake.   It’s our one and only lake, and is located about twenty five miles from us. This nice lake has filled up and dried up….several times.  The whole community has been jumping for joy (and purchasing boats)  since it filled up again a few years ago. We brought my brother and great-nephew along.   Watching and waiting…. Still watching and waiting….. Finally my husband caught one!

    A Trip To The Canyons!

A couple of weeks ago, we took a drive out to the canyons.  Just about an hour away is Carrizo Canyon and Cottonwood Canyon.  It’s amazing how much the land changes in just a short drive from our home on the prairie.         We took our nephew along for the ride.   Wranglers taking in the natural beauty. There were actually two roadrunners…the other one was too quick for me!   There are numerous Indian writings in our canyons.  Look closer at this rock… We spotted deer.   And big horn sheep.   And more deer.                 This deer had…

    A Very Country Thanksgiving!

Howdy friends….I’m back!  Back from where, you ask??  Nowhere big, just my real life! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving…we sure did.  Both of our kids were home, which is a major big deal around here!  We loved having them here, along with the rest of my family.  My in-laws didn’t make the trip from Oklahoma this year, because they are flying to NEW YORK CITY!  They have many excursions planned, including being front and center for the Christmas tree lighting in Rockefeller Center…lucky ducks! Meanwhile, back at the ranch… Hurry Papa, I’m HUNGRY!  There’s a story here….  We were all waiting patiently for my brother to arrive with…

    Estes Park Elk

A few weeks ago, my husband and I went to a wedding near Denver.  It was lovely, and our hotel stay was wonderful….but….it just wasn’t long enough.   So, as usual, I started scheming to “milk one more night” out of our trip. Estes Park is only about an hour or so from where we were, and I had been ranting and raving about going up there to see the elk.  Not only is Estes Park a quaint mountain town, the elk love to hang out there during their mating season in September and October.  It was more magnificent than I could have imagined! This is the king of the…
